    Xanadu
    Default job background
    Description
Xanadu's mission is to build quantum computers that are useful and available to people everywhere.

Few people in their life will be able to be a part of something like this, where if we are successful, the technologies we develop will solve some of the world's most challenging problems, and literally change the world.

As a member of the architecture team, the selected candidate will work on designing, simulating, and analyzing methods for preparing bosonic qubits to be used in Xanadu's architectures for fault-tolerant, photonic quantum computers.

For this role it is important to excel in theoretical quantum optics or bosonic qubit encodings, and numerical techniques.
MSc or PhD degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related technical field
Demonstrated combination of strong problem solving and analytical skills, high creativity and attention to detail (e.g.

explained something in a novel way, built connections between ideas that had not been known before, developed or improved the performance of a numerical technique, etc.)

Demonstrated Python programming skills (e.g. for research, coursework, personal projects, coding challenges, or hackathons); Demonstrated ability to employ numerical techniques for research problems (e.g. a paper or GitHub repo for a research or course project where you developed or implemented a numerical technique)
Demonstrated interest and commitment toward understanding and collaborating with experimental, software and theory teams (e.g. providing theory support for an experimental demonstration)
PhD degree, postdoctoral experience or industry experience in quantum technology
Knowledge of basic software development best practices (testing, code documentation, code reviews)
Excellent Python programming skills, demonstrated via a public online portfolio (i.e. GitHub account, contributions to open-source projects, etc.)
    Experience as a project leader/owner
    Experience with high-performance computing
They are fundamental and lay the foundation for the culture at Xanadu.

At Xanadu, we are committed to building an inclusive, safe, and equitable culture and fostering an environment where our employees feel included, valued, and heard.
