Nightshift Production Supervisor
  • Monday to Friday
; 5:00pm - 3:00am


  • Responsibilities:_
  • Performs administrative tasks and maintain communications associated with the activities of a production day. Ensure machine performance in safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping, and the attainment of plant goals.
  • Implement and ensure staff adhere to plant health, safety and environmental procedures at all times to secure a safe and efficient workplace. Instruct subordinates in safe operating procedures and plant conduct, and require them to follow these instructions. Coordinate the workplace health, safety and environmental programs with reference to Attachment outlining specific health, safety and environmental responsibilities.
  • Monitor quality of output and take appropriate action, including shutdown of process, to prevent or limit production of offgrade material. Conduct, and assist others in conduct of, investigations to determine causes of quality defects.
  • Assign housekeeping tasks to subordinates so as to maintain production area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Oversee assigned production department of 3050 employees
  • Uphold all company policies and procedures
  • Production planning, problem resolution and guidance
  • Promote and foster a team environment within a very divers multicultural facility
  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to be fair but firm.
  • Implement Lean Waste Reduction concepts
  • Progressive disciplining, performance appraisals, health & safety training etc.
  • Qualifications: _
  • 2 + years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 5S required
  • Post-Secondary Education
  • 30 direct reports (minimum)
  • Experienced with CNC machines or robotics preferred
  • Automotive experience or similar preferred
  • Working knowledge of SQDCM objectives preferred
  • Strong leader who is able to coach, motivate and guide a team of employees
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and fabrication combined with experience in an assembly & manufacturing environment.
  • Window and Door manufacturing or other building materials experience is an asset
  • Excellent leadership, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Identifies safety hazards and takes appropriate steps to control them. Prepares equipment so that it can be safety worked on by others, and signs safety work permits when trained to do so. In emergencies, directs control efforts of subordinates and orders their evacuation when necessary for their protection
    .
