    The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Education Department is accepting applications for the - academic year, to fill the following Full Time Term position based out of Senator Myles Venne School in La Ronge, SK:

    Recreation Coordinator

    The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

    • Develop, organize, lead, evaluate and promote interest in community-based recreational activities such as; arts, crafts, sports, games, camping, cultural programs and hobbies for all age groups after school, evenings & weekends;

    • Work with students, their families, and community members;

    • Report to and work with steering committee(s);

    • Recruit, coordinate, and recognize volunteers;

    • Organize and implement monthly gym events schedule;

    • Be present on location during events;

    • Establish, partner and maintain partnerships with other community recreation organizations and programs;

    • Ensure sports and recreation facilities are safe for public use;

    • Make requests for new equipment, supplies, and/or services as needed;

    • Maintain positive public relations, on behalf of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band;

    • Enforce rules and regulations of recreation facilities, in order to maintain discipline and ensure safety.

    The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    • 2 year Diploma in Recreation and Community Development, Recreation and Sports Management, Sports Administration or similar;

    • 1-2 years experience in the Sports and Recreation field is preferred;

    • Coaching certificate is an asset;

    • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required;

    • Must be able to work with minimal supervision;

    • Program planning experience;

    • Strong organizational & time management skills;

    • Strong communication, interpersonal and public relations skills;

    • Good budgeting and financial management skills;

    • Must have strong reading, writing, and communication skills;

    • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively;

    • Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate;

    • Must have a Valid Class 5 Driver's License;

    • Must have a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check, and COVID-19 Vaccination Passport;
