Family Plus is seeking a passionate, caring, and talented individual to join our team in the role of Clinical Therapist. We have a full-time position open for a therapist who sees children, youth and families, and has experience working with survivors of sexual abuse/assault. This is a great opportunity to be part of our Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, Kit's Place.

Responsibilities:

Working with children and families, both in individual and group settings
Recognizing mental health disorders among children, and developing treatment plans based on clinical symptoms and disorders
Treating child neurodevelopmental conditions through an ACE philosophy lens
Using a variety of therapeutic interventions including person-centred, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, solution-focused, family systems, and cognitive-behavioural through a child-based format
Advocating for the child and their family members from a culturally appropriate, trauma-informed perspective
Consulting with in-house and external interdisciplinary professionals
Preparing and presenting training materials for multidisciplinary professionals on varying issues relating to mental health

Skills to Succeed:

A Master's degree in a counselling discipline
Post-graduate direct clinical experience
An insured member of a Professional Association (NBASW or CCTNB)
The ability to use techniques like motivational interviewing to facilitate client involvement and change
