Founded in 1964, Innis College serves as both an academic and social community for undergraduate students within the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto.

We provide an intimate setting and informal home for about 2,200 undergraduate students.

The Alumni Relations Officer reports to the Associate Director, Advancement in a results oriented, fast-paced, team environment where he/she plays a key role in delivering programming to increase alumni engagement levels among a broad, diversified base of alumni and in alignment with institutional-wide fundraising campaigns.

The incumbent also works collaboratively with other Alumni Relations Officers to assist the Advancement team in achieving the goals of Advancement, particularly with respect to relationship building with alumni and future alumni.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Fostering positive relationships with alumni
  • Implementing programs that allow current students and alumni to engage with one another
  • Promoting alumni engagement opportunities to academic units, graduating students, industry partners and alumni
  • Responding to requests from alumni regarding participation in volunteer activities
  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
  • Fostering positive relationships with prospective and existing donors
  • Researching and writing nominations for various awards
  • Generating reports to analyze the impact of programming on alumni engagement

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of recent and relevant experience with a proven track record of success
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience using market research and program data to evaluate initiatives and make recommendations
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and results oriented environment
  • Proven ability to motivate others, ie. volunteers, students, team members, donors
  • Strong team player who values collaboration
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, relationship building and planning skills, attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to diversity, tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a complex multistakeholder environment
