Metro Community Housing Association is a non-profit, community-based agency that provides support and residential services to persons who have experienced mental health difficulties.
Residential Counsellors are responsible for supporting clients in all aspects of daily living, follow consistent IPPs and Behaviour Modification programs, provide medication monitoring, attend appointments with clients, accompany clients on recreation outings and complete required documentation.
You will be successful in this role if you are respectful to everyone you support and work with, put clients needs first, have a good sense of professional boundaries, possess good judgement, and have an innate ability to make people feel good.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services Field (Psychology, Sociology, etc.) or Human Service diploma
- Two years related experience working with individuals who have experienced mental health difficulties
- Some experience in life skills development, behavior modification and Individual Program Planning would be preferable
Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Must be able to work in an environment with challenging client behaviors
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to make appropriate decisions during client crises or house emergencies
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Positive representative for the Agency
Wage Rate
- $20.32 per hour
