  • Be between 1530 years of age at the start of the funded position.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Be available to work 35 hours/week over an 8week period (May to August)

Job Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:


  • Review, update, and organize materials in the Career Lab (Virtual and In Office) and for other HIEC programs
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including booking school visits for Fall 202
  • Review feedback collected throughout the year and help with summarizing and report writing; assist with tracking and monitoring program deliverables
  • Conduct inventory tracking and data entry to ensure all resources and materials are accounted for
  • Assist with updating a contact database for education partners
  • Assist with the organization of outreach materials
  • Assist with program administration for summer programming
  • Assist with program events including in preparation for the event, during the event, and event followup
  • Assist with supervising program participants and ensuring adherence to program guidelines
  • Educate program participants on relevant topics and provide necessary resources

Qualifications to Succeed

  • Pursuing or have obtained a degree or college diploma in education, child and youth studies, employment counselling, career development, or a related field
  • Experience with program administration, delivery and creation is a strong asset
  • Experience creating and or developing curriculum content for program delivery is an asset
  • Teaching and/or instructing experience is an asset

Key Competencies:


  • Selfstarter with a positive attitude and a passion for education and career development
  • Interest and ability to work in a smalltomediumsized notforprofit organization
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan and the ability to collaborate with other teams and across the organization
  • Advanced computer software skills in Microsoft Office suite and virtual environment are required
  • An understanding of education and learning processes that will enable the delivery of firstclass programs
  • Superior planning and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Superior group facilitation skills and proven experience developing curriculum/workshop content
  • Comfortability speaking in front of small and large audiences

Working Conditions:


  • Typical working hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with some requirements to work additional hours, occasionally during evenings and weekends. It may require some flexibility to support highimpact events and programs that run from time to time
  • Travel required within Ontario or Canada for presentations, partnership meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 25 lbs
