Reporting to the Director, Environmental Strategic Initiatives, the Manager, Climate Solutions will be responsible to manage the evolution of Climate Solutions in support of Air Canada' s Climate Action Plan.


Accountabilities (Responsibilities):


  • Oversee the administration of the Leave Less Travel Program
  • Continuously evolve program terms and conditions.
  • Address any audit findings into Leave Less Travel Program processes.
  • Develop data models on sales patterns and forecasts for future consumption of SAF and carbon offsets.
  • Accountable for end to end processes for Leave Less Travel Program from onboarding to invoicing and certificates
  • Maintain and optimize via automation the customer registry.
  • Provide inputs to billing/invoicing team and ensure invoices have been issued to each customer on monthly/quarterly basis as defined by contract.
  • Build program SOPs and process documents.
  • Track and monitor Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and carbon offset purchases across all booking channels; report on dashboard to key stakeholders.
  • Working with stakeholders such as legal Support Corporate Sales and Cargo Sales in their sales efforts
  • Deliver the Leave Less Travel Program Pitch to new customers.
  • Provide training sessions to Corporate Sales, Cargo and those involved in new booking workstreams.
  • Monitor contract terms and proactively engage in renewal discussions.
  • Accountable to develop, implement and keep current all SOP's, processes, FAQ and any external documents.
  • Single Point of Contact for all inquiries during the various phases of the sales process
  • Ensure the Leave Less Travel Program continually meets contractual obligations, CORSIA guidelines and industry best practices.

Ensure third-party audit takes place on annual basis, and support the Manager, Sustainable Energy Programs and Policy throughout the annual audit.


  • Build out the corporate strategy for the Climate Solutions (carbon offsets, SAF, etc) for noncorporate customers
  • Roll out and evaluate booking channel integrations.
  • Manage SAF and carbon offsets offerings.
  • Work closely with ecommerce and brand on the evolution of the customer side of the program.
  • Enhance product presence in market, bringing all climate solutions from a 'Pilot' phase into steadystate
  • Increase web presence.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and assess changes required
  • Accountable to develop, publish and maintain the program Terms & Conditions on Leave Less website.
  • Propose enhancements to program to ensure the Leave Less Travel Program evolves.
  • Assist with the rollout of new solutions into new booking channels
  • Manage integration projects with IT.
  • Build and continuously monitor for effectiveness a multiyear plan showing how the Leave Less Travel Program will be rolled out across various booking channels in conjunction with the overall Climate Action Plan.
  • Build and implement launch plans for each new booking channel.

Efforts:


  • Physical efforts are negligible.
  • As this position is new and involves developing processes and thinking strategically about AC's future in the climate space it will require quite a bit of decision making and require a lot of assessment of current state and what the industry is doing.

Working Conditions:


  • The physical environment is office work
  • As this is a new position in a team that is growing in visibility there is a level of stress to be expected at first which will abate once the position takes form.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business, Finance or Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a large company preferably in the Transportation/Airline/Energy domain
  • Minimum of five years large project implementation
  • Ability to accurately interpret Government legislation, ISO standards, CORSIA guidelines and related regulations
  • Familiarity with financial systems and accounting methodology; understanding of lowcarbon or sustainable fuel accounting is an asset
  • Understanding of fuel procurement, sustainable aviation fuels, carbon offsets is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to be a team player
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple files.
  • Excellent organizational skills, autonomy, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong mathematical skills with attention to detail and accuracy of records
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
