**Program Overview - Volunteer Services, Community Program Unit
Volunteer & Student Services is a central resource to the organization, recruiting, retaining, and recognizing over 1000 volunteers who dedicate over 20,000 hours each year.
This position reports to the Manager of Volunteer & Student Services.It is responsible for delivering client reception service in person, by telephone and/or online at the 1st-floor front desk of the main reception at 815 Danforth Avenue and providing general clerical support to the Department.
What You Will Do
- Receive clients and community members in person and/or by telephone at reception and provide professional, respectful and welcoming client services.
- Assess the individual's needs and provide the client with information and referral to the center and agency resources to support them.
- Identify potential crisis situation before they occur and take steps to deescalate minor situations and seeks support when necessary.
- Develop and maintain information and referral binders/sheets on the Centre's programs and community resources.
- Assist in client registration and appointment making.
- Assist in data entry and compiling statistics.
- Keep accurate and confidential records, including client intake forms and related documents.
- Work with other Client Services Representatives to ensure ongoing coordination within and across units.
- Collaborate and cooperate with other staff within the Department to ensure clients' success and integration in programming.
- Engage in training and education to upgrade skills as directed by WoodGreen Community Services to fulfil the position's responsibilities.
- Maintain all aspects of confidentiality relating to clients, volunteers, staff, community members and community partners.
- Ensure the antiracism objectives and community development principles of the organization are respected and followed.
- Perform other related duties as required from time to time.
What You Bring to the Team
- Community Worker Diploma, Social Services Diploma, Human Services Counsellor Diploma or equivalent 2year college diploma.
- Customer Service certificate is considered a strong asset.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in the community service sector.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience with multistakeholder engagement in the community service sector.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience with data entry.

- Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and initiative.
- Second language(s) an asset.
