The Shop Labourer is responsible for supporting the maintenance and repair operations of the equipment and assisting with general shop duties.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the acquisition and delivery of parts, tools, and supplies needed to maintain and repair equipment.
- Assist technicians by retrieving and organizing tools, equipment, and materials necessary for repairs and maintenance.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks on equipment, such as fluid checks, greasing, and cleaning.
- Maintain inventory levels of parts, fluids, and supplies, ensuring adequate stock and coordinating with vendors for timely replenishment.
- Support the organization and cleanliness of the shop and storage areas.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory transactions.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to prioritize and schedule repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, place orders, and track deliveries.
- Operate company vehicles for picking up parts, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with general shop duties, such as organizing tools, cleaning work areas, and disposing of waste materials.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to provide status updates, relay information, and report any issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shop runner or similar role, preferably in a mechanical or equipment maintenance environment.
- Basic knowledge of equipment, parts, and tools is advantageous.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain inventory and track supplies.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and suppliers.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for performing routine equipment maintenance tasks.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities.
