Job Description:


  • Conduct Stages 24 archaeological fieldwork under the guidance of a field supervisor.
  • Identify and recover Indigenous and Euro-Canadian artifacts as directed by the site supervisor.
  • Prioritize Health and Safety, adhering to all AECOM procedures.
  • Willingness to travel and work out of town, across Ontario, for extended periods.
  • Lead by example and take on additional tasks assigned by field supervisors/management.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:


  • 23 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to perform strenuous archaeological fieldwork, including lifting up to 40lbs and repetitive movements.
  • Effective and professional communication with the Field Supervisor regarding site workrelated information, issues, and concerns.
  • Punctuality and preparedness for all weather conditions with appropriate gear readily available.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the assigned office or designated project meeting spot.
  • Sensitivity, awareness, and a respectful attitude towards Indigenous culture and people.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Proven ability to recognize cultural material and collect it in a controlled manner.
  • Demonstrated physical ability and care when conducting excavations.
  • Effective team player with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of MCM Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license.
