    What will you do?

    In addition to day-to-day maintenance of projects, you will gain exposure on underwriting new developments and re-developments within your portfolio. As you grow into the role, you will be provided with increasing accountability to take on more complex projects, present memos of findings and opportunities to share your professional insight with leadership teams on the feasibility of projects.

    Your strong knowledge of our projects will lend you success in managing complex modeling information and translating it into more consumable findings for leadership and external partners. Your aptitude to learn and take on new projects will deepen your knowledge of the real estate industry and different asset classes – ranging from office spaces to condos. Here a just some of the responsibilities you will take on:

  • Providing key insights to Sr. Management to help identify risks and opportunities within Dream's development business.
  • Presenting to Sr. Management and Development partners to provide project updates and explanations on project performance and returns
  • Working with lending institutions on various types of financing on development assets as they move through the development lifecycle
  • Ensuring financial models reflect the terms of management and joint venture agreements, sales contracts, and financing agreements, and follow industry standards
  • Having a thorough knowledge of the assumptions used to prepare budgets and forecasts and clearly articulating and documenting those assumptions
  • Coordinating with colleagues within Development, including project managers, construction, debt finance and accounting, for regular budget updates
  • Completing detailed variance analyses that includes relevant financial comparisons together with comprehensive narrative explanations
  • Preparing scenarios for senior management to assess the implications of various development ideas and opportunities on the overall development performance
  • Assist with consolidating key data from project models into portfolio reports used for reporting to senior management, shareholders, and other stakeholders
  • Maintaining financial forecast models for a range of real estate development projects.
  • What type of experience should you have?

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or economics
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • At least 1 year experience of managing direct report(s)
  • Experience in accounting, financial reporting, and modeling
  • Pursuing or completed CPA and/or CFA designation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
