Associate Project Manager


The role of the Associate Project Manager is to initiate, plan, execute, and finalize designated installation projects according to Getinge methodology, deadlines, and planned budget.

The Associate Project Manager will define the project's scope based on contracted services in conjunction with Getinge's clients, and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

This position requires active involvement from the bidding process to the successful receipt of final invoice payments. This role includes acting as a liaison between internal and external teams to oversee a seamless implementation.

The incumbent will manage resources while coordinating the efforts of team members, third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to contract and plan.

In addition to leading the implementation, the incumbent will develop and build client relationships ensuring open communication and act as a single point of escalation and resolution to project issues.


The Position

This role is responsible for:

  • Serve as a key business partner to clients in the field and develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Perform project related functions, comprising of coordination of all internal disciplines required to effectively execute a project, inclusive of kickoff meetings, submittal preparation, customer liaison issues, shipping and installation, startup, final documentation, resolution of startup issues and closeout meetings.
  • Responsible for coordinating Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), if appropriate.
  • Assist the Tender and Contracts Team and Territory Managers in coordinating responses to RFI/P/Qs, bid documents and contracts inclusive of technical review, equipment layout, and pricing and proposal preparation.
  • Work independently with little or no supervision making decisions as it relates to proper project execution, included but not limited to specification compliance and system design efficacy.
  • Interact directly with project stakeholders including customers, architects/engineers, vendors and internal personnel to assure successful completion of projects within time and budgetary constraints.
  • As required, visit job sites and attend job site meetings as PM lead.
  • Support field sales personnel with coordinating room layouts and utility information, preorder to assure consistency post order.
  • Develop fullscale project plans and associated documents using appropriate tools. (Charter, communications, risk, change management and project reporting documents).
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports for the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas for proactive engagement, resolution. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables. Maintain accurate schedules in project management tools and calendars. Ensure that the project produces products/services that will deliver the desired outcomes, and meet customer requirements.
  • Resolve customer requirements and priority conflicts; make decisions and manage escalations on a daily basis. Identify and resolve issues within the project team. Estimate, plan the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recommendations if necessary during project cycle.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and key stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain business performance stability during transition from the project to service.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, prepare and track submittals, coordinate changes, manage issues, identify and mitigate risks, plan and update activities through project management tool. Prepare final manuals and assure proper distribution.
  • Track internal and external closeout of projects. Authorize and maintain archiving of project documentation.
  • Assist customers, sales reps, department managers, and field personnel as needed with technical documentation and or information for current and past projects.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
