Job Position:
Intermediate SQL Server & Oracle DBA**
Location Quebec (Remote)
Contractor or Permanent (both acceptable)
French Fluent and English conversational will work
Contract 36 months
In this context, the mission includes:
- Problem resolution for database servers
- Install and manage database servers
- Database backup and restore
- Standby databases deployment & administration
- SQL scripting
- Database security
- Technical support to the development team
- Help and advice IT team for the preparation of the changes and the releases
- Performance and tuning
- Legacy management of the servers
- Capacity Planning
- Technological watch on Oracle products
Required skills
- Strong expertise on Oracle DBA
- Strong expertise on SQL Server DBA
- Performance tuning
- RMAN Backup & Recovery
- ASM
- OEM
- RAC would be appreciated
- Shell (ksh, sh)
- Unix experience from an Oracle point of view (Linux RedHat 5 & 6 / Solaris 10)
- Oracle Transparent Gateway for Sybase
Language
- French fluent
- English working knowledge
Expected deliverables
- Installation of new database and standby servers
- Support for live implementation of software releases
- Operational documentation
- Written advice on performance and tuning for Production and Development environments.
