Planning Forester, based in
Quesnel, BC with strong communication and facilitation skills to support our clients across British Columbia.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


As a Planning Forester, you will work within a team of forest analysts, planners and forest operations specialists to support forest land management for indigenous, government and industry clients.

This position will require extensive knowledge of the BC provincial forestry regime and forest stewardship, with experience in forest development and operations, forest tenure management and landscape-level forest management concepts as we provide focused, innovative, and meaningful solutions to our clients.

Background and/or experience in silvicultural systems, reforestation and wildfire/fuels management would be distinct assets.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • A safety conscious attitude;
  • Postsecondary education with a natural resource management focus;
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in the forest management, ideally involving forest tenure management or landscape scale forest management planning ;
  • Registered as an RPF with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC);
  • Experience leading or facilitating diverse groups;
  • Background in operational forest management, development and log sales would be an asset;
  • Strong technical writing skills, with formal training in technical writing would be an asset;
  • An understanding of forestry GIS datasets and forest landscape analysis processes would be an asset; and
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

  • Able to work with excellent attention to detail with work accuracy and quality.
