Job Description:


We are presently recruiting for an Analyst in equity trading within the Trading group in the Total Fund Management (TFM) department based in Toronto.

Trading is responsible for the execution of all transactions in public market securities for the Fund (excluding credit).


The primary responsibility of this role will be to trade equities and equity-linked futures and options for fundamental, quantitative and index strategies.

The individual will collaborate with the rest of the Trading team to deliver the groups broader objectives.


Role Specific Accountabilities:


  • Execute trades in public market equities, futures, and options in the Americas and Asia Pacific.
  • Manage trade orders in a logical, riskcontrolled manner with a high sensitivity to fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners across trading channels and regions.
  • Partner with Trading Analytics to research new ideas and support team initiatives.
  • Support investment teams by sharing market insights, trade ideas, and fulfilling data requests.
  • Oversee daytoday administrative issues in support of trading activities.

Qualifications:


If you possess the following, we would like to hear from you:

  • Self-motivated and driven with a desire to learn more about capital markets and investment management.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of working effectively with others.
  • Experience with some programming languages (such as R, Python, C++/Java, VBA, Matlab, SQL).
  • Strong analytic and modelling skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Recent graduate with a degree in STEM or business field.
  • Embody CPP Investments' Guiding Principles of Integrity, Partnership and High Performance.

Following would be an asset but is not required:

  • Work experience in a trading or sales role
  • experience in equities, futures, or options would be desirable.
  • CFA or other relevant professional designation.
