We are seeking a positive and energetic Furniture Maker for our Casegoods Division in Kitchener.

Day Shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Check tops for quality and identify defects.
  • Select colour of headers to match as close as possible to the veneer used on the top and the finish colour.
  • Make bends where needed by hand or by Hi-Frequency.
  • Assemble units using dowels, glue staples and screws.
  • Safely set up and operate a variety of C machines, clipper, planner, table saw and small hand tools.
  • Keep area neat and tools, machines in good working order.
  • Inform Supervisor of any quality, maintenance or production issues.
  • Adhere to safe work practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all responsibilities/services in accordance with company Quality Assurance procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Grade 12 education or equivalent experience.
  • Must have 3 years experience with a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools.
  • Ability to work with contact cement and a variety of different adhesives.
  • Ability to read routers and drawings.
  • Ability to work with laminates.
  • Ability to read blue prints is an asset.
  • Must wear a N95 mask for certain operations.
