    YOUR FOCUS

    Reporting to the Director, Classroom Technology Services, the Classroom Technology Services Supervisor is responsible for providing audiovisual services across campus and operates a busy equipment pool centre that provides walk-up clients (students/staff/faculty) with equipment via short-term loans. This position manages the team that operates from one main facility (D'Avray), one satellite facility (Tilley), plus a roving van to handle deliveries and immediate support needs.

    • Provide team training for a broad and complicated suite of media equipment: cameras, lights, laptops, projectors, sound recorders, etc. Provide on-site instruction for UNB faculty and staff.
    • Train team on the delivery of equipment to classrooms and equipment setup.
    • Evaluate, develop, and implement policies and procedures to manage and improve service/quality of services.
    • Design, craft, and implement an effective schedule in collaboration with staff.
    • Monitor and supervise quality control procedures to ensure that resources are in good working order at all times.
    • Test and inventory new audio, video, and multimedia equipment purchases.
    • Collaborate with various Faculties across campus to assess needs, provide advice, and work closely with them to determine equipment demands for class projects.
    • Ensure new faculty, staff and students are aware of all the services and technology available from the Equipment Pool and pre-installed in classrooms and teaching spaces.
    • Provide instruction in the use of audio/video conferencing equipment and smart classrooms to clients.
    • Advise and assist clients with the operation, diagnostics and troubleshooting of systems.
    • Support technically advanced teaching and conferencing installations, such as the auditoriums, video conferencing classrooms, and active/collaborative learning spaces.
    • Manage the Classroom Hotline ticket system.
    • Develop an expert-level of knowledge of learning technologies, and the latest products and capabilities, and anticipate and procure the types of equipment that will be needed to meet the evolving teaching & learning requirements of the university.
    • Track, map use, and determine priorities for equipment purchases that are covered by the annual budget and additional needs which may need to be funded.
    • Research, write and produce a yearly report providing a thorough and comprehensive accounting of the running of the equipment pool.

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Post-secondary education in a related field.
    • Five or more years of experience working with audio-visual and multimedia equipment in a secondary school, college or university environment.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, schedule, and prioritize services.
    • Technical capacity to keep current with evolving audio visual and multimedia technologies and systems.
    • Excellent communication skills to both instruct, support, and aid clients (both internal and external).
    • Familiarity with IOS and Windows operating systems and Microsoft O365 Suite.
    • Familiarity with Webcheckout, considered an asset.
