This is what you'll be doing:

The Patient Care Manager (PCM) for Georgetown Hospital's Maternal Child services is an inspiring leader who creates a work environment that promotes collaborative teamwork and an exemplary patient and family experience.

They are responsible for overseeing daily operations, advancing practice and quality of care for the Maternal Newborn inpatient unit and outpatient clinics for obstetrical triage, newborn and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities involve planning, implementing and evaluating activities related to the provision of high quality patient and family centered care, hiring and developing staff, integrating best practices, program planning and evaluation, working collaboratively with the team and maintaining fiscal accountability.

In addition, the PCM will participate with tri-site partners to measure and monitor practice, identify and manage risk and improve quality and safety.

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Masters prepared or evidence of substantial completion preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a manager in a similar hospital environment
  • Minimum of 5 years maternal newborn clinical experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent human resource management skills including scheduling, recruitment and retention of staff
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others towards professional excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to foster team
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent patient and family experience skills
  • Excellent budgeting and financial management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
