We currently have an opportunity for a Manager, Financial Risk in our Finance group located in our Winnipeg Head Office.

This role is responsible for the development and implementation of risk management policies, procedures, financial controls and governance processes to safeguard Richardson's assets and support activities to maximize returns without incurring undue risk.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures and control systems
  • Manage and execute a wide range of audits and internal audit related projects
  • Assess financial, operational, business and compliance processes; test the design and operating effectiveness of related key controls and make recommendations to enhance overall control framework and operational performance of the organization
  • Evaluate process and control deficiencies and recommend action plans to mitigate risk
  • Identify, recommend and review operational performance improvements
  • Responsible for hiring, managing, training, supervising and developing staff
  • Oversee the analysis and assessment of internal audit results, report on and develop recommendations to management and report on effectiveness of controls
  • Provide advice to crossfunctional teams responsible for developing new or changes to business processes, implementing new systems and systems enhancements

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting and a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) and/or Internal Auditor Designation (CIA)
  • Minimum 5 years related external or internal audit experience
  • Knowledge of auditing standards, best practices, risk assessments, audit planning and execution
  • Strong leadership abilities with superior interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Solid planning and communication skills along with mature judgment, innovative approaches to problem solving and the capability to manage change
