As a Business Analyst, you will immerse yourself in a collaborative setting where your expertise helps to actively shape NAIT's technology landscape and facilitate the success of our students, staff, and industry partners.

We are seeking a dedicated Business Analyst to join our team.

In partnership with the Team Leader or Manager, you will liaise with diverse business units and ITS, skillfully translating business objectives and key results into comprehensive conceptual designs, all while championing top-tier project management and business analysis practices.


Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with academic and administrative departments to understand, gather, and document their system and process requirements, and map these to current objectives and key results.

System Analysis: Assess the student information system and other platforms to identify areas of improvement, enhancement, or integration.

Solution Design: Collaborate with business and technical teams to design solutions that meet NAIT's needs, ensuring usability, efficiency, and scalability.

Organizational Change Management: Assess change impacts, facilitate smooth transitions with training, and ensure changes align with organizational goals.

Reporting and Analytics: Utilize data analysis tools to generate reports and insights to assist with decision-making processes and understanding student trends.

Coaching: Share knowledge with, and provide coaching and mentoring to, less experienced business analysts.


Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand complex problems, extract essential details, and develop practical solutions.
  • Proficient in the use of analysis and visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of student information systems, ERP's, or other enterprise platforms.
  • Knowledge of technology system interfaces, data integration, networks, and operating systems.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with business and technical teams on multiple concurrent activities.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Business, IT, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a business analyst.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master and Scrum Master Certification is an asset.
  • Experience with student information systems and the software development life cycle (SDLC) is an asset.
  • Prior experience in a postsecondary educational institution is a plus.
  • Business Analyst certification is an asset.

Remuneration:
$79,795.82 to $105,715.48 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
