Overall Responsibilities
The Associate Director of Strategy is responsible the day-to-day operation of their individual group.

In conjunction with the Group Director of Strategy or Managing Director, the Associate Director of Strategy will actively participate in the maintenance of standards for all the functions of the department including philosophies, systems and procedures.

Is also responsible for providing input into the administration of their group with respect to leading and conducting recruiting, performance evaluations, career development and staff planning.

Is the key contact on the business and is responsible for maintaining the client relationship and internal relationships with account group and buyers.


Specific Duties

  • Key contact on client business
  • Accountability for providing strategic insight into client business
  • Overall team management with respect to recruiting, performance reviews, career development
  • Oversee training and mentoring of strategist level down.
  • Training and mentoring of Senior Strategist and Supervisor(s)
  • Plays key role in client strategic planning seminars
  • Understanding client marketplace and OMD Design principles have been applied in the media plan development process
  • Oversee creative plan development (and/or develop creative plans according to strategy)
  • Ensure utilization of OMD Research Tools in plan development
  • In conjunction with the Buyers/Digital/Social/Search/Programmatic ensure the strategic execution of Plan
  • Preparation and presentation of reports and strategic analyses to clients
  • Ensuring the broadcast & digital cost guides are reflective of plans
  • Coordinate client promotional activity with the media
  • Ensure nonbroadcast rates are competitive and added value has been maximized
  • Knowledgeable on all emerging media
  • Initiate and run departmental projects
  • Run client education seminars
