THE OPPORTUNITY
Slegg Building Materials is currently seeking a Full-Time Merchandising Lead Hand to join our team. The shifts are Monday - Friday with flexible hours. Must be available to work occasional weekends. The wage range is $22-24 per hour, based on experience. Our Extended Health & Dental benefits start after 3 months.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Including but not limited to the following:

  • Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as a top priorities
  • Build orders and receive transfers, ensure accuracy and input. Ensure all products leaving the yard on deliveries are accurately accounted for
  • Direct and supervise a small team to maximize efficiency, create to do lists for daily tasks
  • Keep yard products organized and bins fully stocked. Ensure signage is accurate
  • Work safely and efficiently under time restraints and high pressure situations
  • Build and ship outgoing transfers
  • Ensure adherence to all company and safety policies
  • Train staff on procedures
  • Ensure a positive and safe work environment
  • Obtain and follow clear direction from managers and ensure a high level of effectiveness
  • Other duties as assigned by management

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings
  • Previous experience in a similar role is required
  • A broad knowledge of building supplies is required
  • Forklift experience considered beneficial
  • A positive can do attitude is essential
