    We have an exciting opportunity for an UAS Pilot to join our Aviation team

    In this position you will perform all duties in the capacity of Pilot-In-Command on Enbridge's UAS, ensuring that the UAS owned and/or operated by Enbridge are flown and operated to the highest standard of safety in the most efficient and cost-effective way. Come join our Aviation Team today

    Here's what you will do:

    SA=SAFETY, O=OPERATIONS, C=COMMUNICATIONS, A=ADMINISTRATIVE, T=TRAINING, S=SCHEDULING

    (SA) Participate in and follow all current Company Safety Management System practices to maintain the highest degree of safety for all Enbridge employees and assets affected.

    (SA) Required to ensure that all UAS flight operations conducted by internal UAS Pilots and UAS Service Providers are conducted in accordance with Enbridge UAS Policy and Standards, in compliance with the Civil Aviation Regulations of Canada and the USA.

    (SA/A) Liaise with government, third party organizations and peers to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory issues.

    (SA/O/A) Be familiar with and ensure that the Company UAS are operated in compliance with all regulations as required for flights conducted. This may include but is not limited to FAA FAR, Transport Canada CAR.

    (O) Act as (UAS) pilot-in-command (PIC) and as such be ultimately responsible for the operation of Enbridge's UAS type aircraft.

    (O) Regardless of schedules, plans or apparent urgency, the operation of the UAS with which the PIC is entrusted will not commence flight until the PIC is satisfied that the entire flight can be conducted safely and legally with regards to mechanical condition of the aircraft, weight & balance, weather conditions, fuel / battery requirements, specific Enbridge site safety protocols and the safety of its UAS Flight Crew throughout the duration of the flight.

    (O) Assist Enbridge Unites with regards to aerial surveillance and geomatics mapping. This may include but is not limited to aerial pipeline patrols, pipeline maintenance activities such as aerial photography, construction activity monitoring, new pipeline development with aerial mapping (geomatics), the security monitoring of facilities and any other related UAS Operations requested by Enbridge Business Units in support of operations.

    (O) Be willing to act in the capacity of a UAS Training Pilot, UAS Safety Officer or person responsible for coordinating specific UAS operations as advised by the UAS Operations Manager.

    (C) Establish and maintain effective working relationships to meet departmental and personal objectives efficiently.

    (C) Liaise with Company personnel and contractors as required in the coordination of UAS flights.

    Participate in the development of Enbridge Aviation policies and procedures such as safety guidelines, operations, and security and response plans.

    Conduct compliance monitoring (audits) of Enbridge as advised by the UAS Operations Manager. Write compliance audit reports and associated findings. Negotiate and approve the corrective action plans presented by UAS Service Providers in response to a compliance audit.

    Conduct initial compliance reviews of UAS Service Providers requesting approval and annual reviews of approved UAS Service Providers to ensure compliance to the Company UAS Policy and Company UAS Service Provider Standards.

    (T) Participate in all training and recurrent training as specified in the Company UAS Policy and UAS Standard Operating Procedures.

    (T/A) Maintain UAS pilot training records, UAS flight records and UAS asset maintenance records as found in the Enbridge DroneLogbook UAS Management Program.

    (T) Participate in personal development training opportunities as required by regulation and the Company to enhance job performance skills.

    (T) Mentoring and monitoring junior UAS pilots or contract UAS pilots when required.

    Who you are:

    Able to work in the United States or Canada as per Federal, and State/Provincial Company requirements and regulations.

    No previous personal or work history that would preclude transborder operations.

    Valid United States or Canadian passport.

    Valid FAA Small UAS Pilot Certificate (Part 107) or TC Remote Piloted Aircraft System, Advanced Certificate.

    Must maintain a valid United States or Canada Class-4 Medical.

    A minimum of 3 years UAS Pilot experience in photogrammetry or geomatics mapping preferred.

    U.S. or Canadian tax filing will be required, depending on your work assignment.

    Be of the understanding that all Enbridge UAS Operations are Mission approved in Enbridge DroneLogBook prior to the flight. That the telemetry of the flight is uploaded at the end of the mission.

    Approximately 30 hours total time UAS operating experience with 150 flights.

    Geomatic mapping with LiDAR and photogrammetry RTK experience would be an asset.

    UAS photogrammetry operations are a requirement.

    Proven ability to work positively with others in a tactful and diplomatic manner.

    Detail orientated with a focus on accuracy.

    Work effectively with computer applications and programs, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, DroneLogBook, PIX4D or other mapping software and pipeline activity reporting software etc.

    Preferred:

    Bachelors or Associates degree/some college or experience relative to responsibilities.

    Certified Flight Instructors license.

    Certified Flight Instructors Instrument license.

    Working Conditions:

    This job requires substantial UAS piloting skills and quick, accurate decision-making ability in highly stressful situations.

    All skills and techniques could be called upon at once and require flawless performance.

    Emergency, potentially stressful situations involving Company UAS in response to pipeline accidents or incidents will require calm and sound judgment with regards to operations, planning and administrative duties.

    Operations will be in various weather conditions and remote locations. UAS operations are to be conducted in day/night VFR weather conditions within the Visual Line of Site regulations and possible Beyond Visual Line of Site UAS operations conducted in accordance with the Enbridge UAS Policy and Enbridge UAS Standard Operating Procedures.

    Use of appropriate, additional safety equipment is mandatory while performing the duties of this position when landings are at Enbridge facilities such as pump stations, block valves or on the Enbridge rights-of-way.

    UAS crew are to be cognizant of their health and physical fitness with regards to the ability and dexterity level required to perform the role of a UAS pilot. This may require self-initiative and an understanding of personal stress levels associated with this job.

    Sensory requirements and risk exposure include caution when working on the hangar floor with aircraft fuel and hydraulic fluid, UAS battery's and with other aerial contaminants produced by or used around aircraft and UAS assets.

    Good interpersonal and communications skills.

    Able work well with others under stressful conditions.

    A willingness to assist in passenger transportation requirements and preparations.

    Flights may be conducted at any time, 24/7.

    The work schedule is based on operational requirements, which will necessitate weekend, evening and/or holiday work times.

    Scheduled Days Off (SDOs), vacation allocation and work schedule is to be communicated regularly with Chief Pilot UAS Operations, Operations, and Maintenance staff.

    Duty times range up to 14 hours or as specified in the Enbridge UAS Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.

    Efficient use of working hours and careful planning and consistent communication with other operations staff members and maintenance is a necessity.

    Must live within 30 minutes driving time of Enbridge assigned facility.

    Required to maintain the Enbridge Aviation Dress Code Policy and PPE.

    Physical Requirements:

    Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
