Job Overview
The Refrigeration Technician will provide ongoing support to our network of hydrogen fueling stations located across the Greater Vancouver area.
With an additional station in Victoria and Kelowna, we anticipate that there may be the occasional need for travel to provide maintenance at those sites.
This position will work standard daytime hours during the week with the potential for on-call or weekend work for occasional emergency work.
Key Tasks
- Maintain process chilling equipment
- Maintain glycol cooling equipment
- Travel primarily within greater Vancouver to each of our sites
- Support preventative and corrective maintenance on other process equipment as needed, including high pressure compressors, air compressors, and instrumentation
Main Responsibilities
- Processing and completing work orders
- Working with Operations Coordinator to ensure consistent spare part stock levels; provide technical detail on required parts, may inspect new parts as part of our QA process
- Source parts locally and maintain supplier relationships
- Reading and interpreting compliance schematics
- Observing and testing newly installed equipment
- Replacing worn seals, outer shells, and wornout motors
- Adjust refrigeration system's pressures through adjustment of controls
- Acts as mechanical, technical, and operational, support to all refrigeration pneumatics, hydraulics at each HTEC facility
- Assures compliance to refrigeration, pneumatics, hydraulics and boilers standards set forth by maintenance management
- Analyzes refrigeration malfunctions from performance and test equipment readings and determines appropriate repairs
- Stays current on the latest technology pertaining to Refrigeration, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Boilers
Requirements:
- High school diploma and Refrigeration Operator certificate from TSBC
- 1 year previous experience as a refrigeration technician
- HVAC certification
- Braising and soldering skills
- Familiarity with local building codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics
- Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to lift over 50lbs safely
