Cafeteria Manager
NAI Restaurant brings a high-end modern twist to traditional cuisine. With an emphasis on quality ingredients and expert culinary techniques, NAI Restaurant offers a unique dining experience. NAI Restaurant is looking for an experienced Cafeteria Manager with Barista experience.
Job duties:
- Organize and control the operations of restaurant's cafeteria
- Implement operational procedures of the cafeteria
- Recruit staff and oversee staff training
- Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
- Track financial records to increase profitability and customer engagement
- Oversee the cafeteria's drink menus and answer customers' questions regarding ingredients
- Oversee the adjustment of the coffee grind during the day, depending on factors such as the weather, temperature and humidity levels
- Manage customer preference of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios
- Oversee the preparation of coffee, tea and other nonalcoholic beverages following specific recipes
- Resolve customer complaints in a timely manner
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for beverage ingredients
- Negotiate arrangements with clients for use of cafeteria's facilities for receptions
- Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
- Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
Requirements:
- Smart Serve Certificate
- At least 5 years of managing/supervisory experience overseeing staff at a cafeteria or café
- At least 7 years of previous work experience as Barista is required
- Sound expertise of Coffee flavour profiles
- Expert understanding of coffee roasting techniques, including the selection of a right brew temperature (for example, to prepare darker roasts more inclined to bitterness than lighter roasts with a lower brew temperature)
- Handson experience with brewing equipment, such as Chemex, V60 Pourover, Hario Syphon, Aeropress, French Press, Clever Dripper, Nitrous coffee.
- Handling experience with espresso machines, such as La Marzocco, Dalla Corte, Nuova Simonelli, and grinders, such as EK43, Mahlqonic E80W, K30Vario, Victoria Arduino Mythos.
- At least 5 years of prior handson experience adjusting the coffee grind depending on factors such as the weather, temperature and humidity levels.
- Ability to train staff on different blends, including on how to grind, weigh and bag the coffee
- At least 2 years of experience overseeing the cafeteria/café cash flow.
- Knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excell, Outlook, Electronic Cash Register.

Barrista Certification
Smart Serve Certificate
Food Safety & Hygiene Certification
Job Terms
Full-time position for a 40-hour work week
Salary is $29 per hour ($60,320 annually)
Hours of work:
morning, day, evening, weekend.
Overtime of 1.5 rate is provided after 44 hours per week.
