Requirements:

Completion of secondary school education is required and/or completion of a college program.
Less than two years of experience.
Experience as an industrial spray painter using conventional and/or airassisted automated painting system.
Ability to read hazard signs, and signs regarding the use of protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves as well as product labels and paint codes.
Ability to take readings on gauges, such as the gauges on electrostatic drying guns, and compare to operational standards for the gauges.
Interact with coworkers to coordinate work and discuss problems. Communicate with supervisors to receive or clarify schedules and to discuss changes in work orders.
Ability to solve problems, find inconsistencies, and decide whether or not pieces need to be sanded or washed before being painted. Prioritize job tasks to meet deadlines.
Ability to work on several projects at once, preparing and priming for one project while paint on another project dries.
Coordinate activities with coworkers to share tools, equipment and work space.
Ability to work independently and work with a partner to move large pieces.
Ability to use computeroperated machinery. For example, may use computer time clocks that automatically calculate time spent per job when cards are passed through scanners.
