WHO WE ARE
La Fédération des coopératives du Nouveau-Québec is owned by its fourteen member co-ops in the Inuit communities of Nunavik.

FCNQ was established in 1967 to provide the rapidly growing cooperative movement with more effective powers and services to help attain their vision "Atautsikut" Together - working to develop as a people, leaving none behind.


Responsibilities:


  • Make system entries for new and departing employees and maintain employee files in Human Resource Information System;
  • Create new job postings and screen resumes;
  • Conduct telephone interviews and perform reference checks or criminal background checks;
  • Participate in onboarding of new employees;
  • Respond to coop managers' requests and questions concerning staff and HR policies and programs;
  • Propose disciplinary alternatives in cases of employee misconduct and explain the Quebec labor standards concerning the disciplinary process;
  • Assist in various administrative duties (scheduling meetings, preparation of documents, translation of documents, etc.);
  • Prepare confirmation of employment and various other letters for employees;
  • Contribute to collecting and verifying documentation for the Law 90 1% Training requirement, including the Student Program;
  • Receive invoices, ensure approval and timely payment;
  • Maintain drivers' licence files, identify licence renewal dates, follow up with the drivers' supervisors and report progress twice a year;
  • Any other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements:


  • One to two years' pertinent experience in Human Resources or administration, particularly in recruitment;
  • Postsecondary education in Human Resources or administration;
  • Able to communicate in French and in English, both verbally and written.
  • Organized and methodical work habits, attention to detail, team worker;
  • Able to handle pressure of deadlines;
  • Discrete, diplomatic and courteous;
  • Good sense of judgement and professional ethics;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
**Note:
WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Monday to Friday, 35 hours a week.
