**Real Estate Law Clerk

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist lawyers with financing transactions, including preparation of security and mortgage documents
  • Be familiar with title and offtitle searches and able to review the same, including title reports, PPSA searches, property tax searches, and zoning certificates.
  • Drafting and registering a variety of land registration documents, including, Charges and Discharges.
  • Evaluate files to review facts, organize and determine appropriate process ensuring critical deadlines are identified and met.
  • Act as frontline liaison with clients, lenders, law offices and government agencies in matters connected with client files.
  • Schedule, coordinate and perform closings and other real estate transactions.
  • Enter and maintain applicable information in Teraview.
  • Prepare reports on completed transactions.
  • Assist with billing.
  • Support other administrative matters as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of a postsecondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk course
  • Experience and knowledge of real estate processes and documents.
  • Minimum 3 years real estate experience.
  • Proficient in formatting legal documents and explaining them to clients.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to deadlines and the dynamic nature of financing transactions.
  • Skilled at handling transactions from beginning to end.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment employing good communication and social skills,
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Well versed in MS Word, and Teraview.
  • Strength in MS Excel would also be preferable but is not required.
  • You will also need to train and become proficient in our practice management software Leap Legal.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Motivated selfstarter.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.

Hours of Work:
