Glazier Apprentice Job Position
Architectural Glass Ltd.

has been in business since 1985 and have the equipment and resources to handle any commercial or residential project, from storefronts to multiple-story construction.

We are currently recruiting Glazier Apprentice.

The right applicant will be responsible for helping AGL Journeyman Glazier/ Installers on job sites and assist in fabrication department occasionally.

This is an entry/apprentice level position and will lead to future opportunities within the company.

Responsibilities include:


  • Assist with installation process of glass and curtain wall frames,
  • Assist with caulking using AGL procedures,
  • Assist with measuring and cutting glass,
  • Assist with the assemble parts of prefabricated glass such as revolving doors, display cases, plate glass, shower doors, store fronts, automatic doors, sky lights, sloped glazing, curtain walls, barrel vaults, solarium and other support structures,
  • Load and unload glass safely from vehicles,
  • Assist with fabrication as needed,
  • Proper housekeeping,
  • Assist lead hand with anything else he/she requires,
  • Responsible for tools and materials on site,
  • Represent AGL in a professional manner and follow all AGL procedures and protocols.

Qualifications Required:


  • Grade twelve (12) Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience
  • Knowledge/Experience in glazing industry is a valued asset
  • Valid Class five (5) driver's license
  • Clean five (5) year drivers abstract is required
  • Basic mathematical skills ,
  • Ability to speak, write and read English,
  • Ability to work at heights,
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada,
  • Must be dependable and reliable,
  • Must be flexible and work effectively in a fast paced environment,
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Know how to properly use a tape measure,
  • Comfortable using hand tools,
  • Must have Own tools, safety equipment/gear, steeltoed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, proper winter gear,
  • Ability to learn, listens, and process instructions.

Working Conditions:

The individual will come into contact with dust and be exposed to loud noises. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required at all times. Driving in winter conditions is mandatory.

Contract length: 2 months


Salary:
$22.00-$27.00 per hour
