Job Summary:

We are a small vegetarian cafe located on Whyte Ave currently seeking a dedicated line-cook to join our team in the food industry (experienced is preferred; but a willingness to learn is also acceptable).

As a line-cook, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation and ensuring that all meals are prepared and served in accordance with food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to recipes and portion sizes
• Ensure that all food is prepared and served in accordance with food safety guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role within the food industry is preferred but not necessary
• Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Skills:

• Food handling: Experience handling and preparing food in a safe and sanitary manner
• Cooking: Proficient in various cooking techniques and familiar with different types of cuisine
• Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
• Food preparation: Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients accurately, and prepare meals efficiently
• Restaurant: Understanding of restaurant operations and ability to work in a fastpaced environment
• Help: Willingness to assist team members as needed to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
• Food service: Experience providing excellent customer service in a food service setting
• Meal preparation: Ability to plan, prepare, and present meals according to specific dietary requirements or preferences
• Kitchen: Familiarity with kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils commonly used in food preparation

Wage:

Probationary Period 3 months $15.00/hour (tips will be included after training)

After probationary period $16/hour

Tips are divided for the day 75% Front of House and 25% Back of House


Hours of Operation:

Monday 11:30am - 9pm

Tuesday Closed

Wednesday, Thursday 11:30am-9pm

Friday, Saturday 10:30am -9pm

Sunday 10:30 am - 4pm


Afternoon Shifts cut offs at 4 pm.
