As part of your daily work, you will:

  • Contribute to the Mirabel battery plant launch with equipment.
  • Create and maintain annual budgets with respect to preventative and predictive maintenance along with proposed new projects.
  • Oversee production maintenance and repairs of all plant equipment allowing facility to run with minimum machine downtime.
  • Supervise contractors performing repairs or new installations and help troubleshoot.
  • Liaise with production manager, supervisor, team leaders and other management to manage priorities and focus on the necessary equipment.
  • Supervise and help install new equipment.
  • Build/modify and upgrade machines as needed by production.
  • Maintain equipment and building maintenance documentation as per regulations/legislation and certificates of approval.
  • Coordinate activities such as inspections, thermography and system analyses.
  • Make schedules and supervise maintenance staff.
  • Manage and implement continuous improvement in the department.
  • Develop procedures to improve production and quality accuracy.
  • Coach and lead teams to achieve set goals and objectives.
  • Interview and recruit for the department/company.
  • Plan employee development, advancement and department succession.

What you'll need to succeed:


  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma with equivalent experience as a skill trade.
  • Minimum 10 years managing technical teams in automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • TS16949 awareness and adherence.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Process and equipment standards for machine building.
  • Building new machinery to meet production demands.
  • Modify and upgrade machinery to increase reliability, productivity and safety.
  • Increase equipment efficiency with implementation of PM/TPM.
  • Overseeing KPIs and make decisions based on data.
  • Clear understanding of root cause analysis and problem solving in order to eliminate various issues permanently.
  • Ability to work in a bilingual environment (French and English).
