Environmental Professional

Velocity Group offers a broad scope of Surveying, Environmental and Civil Engineering services from our offices across Alberta.

We are seeking an Environmental Professional with
experience in:

Pre-disturbance environmental assessments
Phase 1 & 2 Assessments
Environmental monitoring of construction projects, lease, access road and pipeline

construction.

Wildlife management & mitigation planning
Wetland assessments
Stream crossing, fish salvages culvert, fish habitat, & QAUS assessments

Qualifications

University degree or diploma from a recognized institution with a specialty in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience.
Three to five years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation.
Registration, or eligibility for registration, with a relevant professional organization (e.g. APEGA, AIA).
Professional designation or potential to obtain professional designation from a

professional association in Alberta (e.g. APEGA, AIA).

Proficient with Alberta regulations and guidelines.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
Ability to work in a fastpaced, multidisciplinary project team environment.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Complete file reviews and reporting.
Recommend construction methods, impact minimization for crossing installation/replacement activities, including speciesspecific mitigation measures, wetland impact minimization and mitigation measures.
Review ABWRET-A form & compare to field notes, to ensure proper completion.
Ensure that project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner.
Proactive approach to problem solving with a strong ability to take initiative.
