2 x Residential Support Workers - Night (Awake) in Port Alberni, BC

Position type:
Temporary, Part Time


Schedules:

Hiring for two (2) Temporary, Part-Time positions:1. 32hrs = Sunday through Wednesday overnight awake)
2. 24hrs = Thursday through Saturday overnight awake)


Employee benefits:

How you will make a difference:

• Teach/assist individuals with life skills (i.e. household tasks, food preparation, laundry, cleaning, etc.).
• Assist the individual, according to their abilities, with personal care/hygiene and aids to daily living (ADL).
• Encourage community integration and participation in recreational activities, social events, etc.
• Transport personsserved to appointments, activities, etc.
• Model socially appropriate skills/behaviours.
• Assist in developing and implementing service plans (ISP) and individual goalsetting.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or GED.
• MINIMUM 6 months related experience working with youth, individuals with developmental disabilities or in healthcare, as a Healthcare Aide, Personal Support Worker, etc.
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience, may also be considered.
• Valid Class 5 driver license with clean driving abstract and safe, reliable vehicle that has appropriate insurance.
• Valid CPR/First Aid training
• Must obtain Ministry of Justice background check, as well as, MCFD screening
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work well as a team member or without direct supervision.
• Able to function in crisis and follow instructions.
