Miller Maintenance proudly provides maintenance services on Maintenance Contracts for Ontario Ministry of Transportation in all five of the Ministry's Regions.

The Structural and Technology Coordinator will work with the field maintenance staff and subcontractors to ensure complete compliance with the Contractor Directed Maintenance Contract and is responsible for Quality Control of maintenance being completed.

They also develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders including MTO, Miller Maintenance and the general public.


As a Structural and Technology Coordinator, You Will:

  • Estimate time, materials and equipment required to complete tasks
  • Prioritize and organize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
  • Identify training needs for staff. Coordinate and facilitate the trainings as needed
  • Review and approve daily diaries, time sheets, fuel logs, and all other documents for completion and accuracy
  • Ensure Job Hazard Analysis are reviewed
  • Initiate and review tailgate talks with staff on regular intervals to ensure awareness of safe operating policies and best practices
  • Provide leadership to the team
  • May be required to take photographs of lane closures, general operations, signage etc.
  • Review traffic control, set up and take down of OTM Book 7 traffic closures
  • Ensure that equipment maintenance schedules are being adhered to
  • Familiarize with performance requirements in the Maintenance Contract
  • Perform inspections and Quality Control measures to ensure that the jobs meet and/or exceed the specifications outlined in the Maintenance Contract
  • Installing and trouble shooting of our AVL and calibrations of winter equipment
  • Identify extra work and in scope items
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring?:


  • A High School Diploma is required. 3+ year's leadership experience in delegating tasks, training and meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Perform traffic control operations as defined under Traffic Controllers in the OHSA and according to the OTM
  • Knowledge of highway maintenance, acts and legislations preferred
  • Knowledge of Structure maintenance principals and ability to identify structure defects, gained through a minimum of two (2) years of highway structures or equivalent municipal structures maintenance experience
  • Shall possess a certificate from a bridge training course, equivalent to the Ontario Good Roads Association Bridge and Culvert Management Course
  • Ability to build and manage a highly functional team
  • Leadership skills; ability to supervise, assist and train a team and delegate tasks effectively
  • Willingness to learn and appreciate Miller Values

  • Customer service; effectively communicate with various stakeholders (MTO, general public) and attend to their concerns with utmost sense of urgency
  • Flexibility and organizational skills; multi task and manage time in a fast paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities
  • Current W.H.I.M.S and First Aid training
  • Problem solving skills and decision making skills
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office to manage the reporting requirements of this role and computer skills to navigate weather and equipment data
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) to accurately document and review daily activities, reports, and present tailgate talks etc.
  • Willingness to work assigned day, night and weekend shifts and remain on call after hours
  • Class G license
