    Reporting to the Information Security Director, the Information Security Analyst undertakes or leads the daily administration and maintenance of the information security systems and applications that support the company's staff and its objectives.

    This position will be based in one our major office locations across Canada. Support a 24/7 outsourced Security Operation Center (SOC) environment.

    Collaborate with relevant teams to implement security controls, validations, best practices, and enable mechanisms for incident response and data breach detection.

    Leverage attack and vulnerability scanning tools to test, and enable the various teams to test the organization's assets for vulnerabilities and to immediately highlight errors in system configuration, the need for application of fixes and patches, and other security related changes.

    Contribute to the development of company-wide information security requirements, threat modeling, secure design, cryptography standards, third-party component, selection of approved tools, secure implementation, and system monitoring.

    Act as a technical resource to users within the company who are seeking more information about information security.
    Participate in, and act as a technical leader in, periodic information systems risk assessments.

    Assist with the selection, installation, and adoption of automated tools that enforce or monitor the compliance with information security policies, procedures, standards, and similar information security requirements.

    Install and maintain security-related systems software.

    Assist system administrators in the configuration, installation, and connection of hardware/software, so that users will be able to perform business activities in accordance with management's intentions.

    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and knowledge required
    ~ One or more of the following certifications would be considered assets: CompTIA Security +; Information systems Security Professional (CISSP); Knowledge and understanding of network theory, including the OSI Model, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and analyze issues experienced in multiple layers.
    ~ Experience performing forensics, malware reverse engineering, and penetration testing would be considered an asset.
    ~ In-depth understanding of security issues across many different platforms and have the capability to articulate and communicated these issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    ~ Knowledge of network devices such as switches, routers, and have an understanding of how to capture and analyze network traffic (i.e. wireshark, tcpdump, etc.)
    ~ In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems including active directory.
    ~ Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as PHP, Python, Powershell, C# to facilitate the automation of analysis activities.
    ~ Required flexibility to work nights, weekends, and/or holiday shifts in the event of an incident response emergency.
    ~ Knowledge of Information Security, Risk Classification, Incident Management, Security Monitoring, Threat Intelligence, and Incident Response functions.
    ~ Demonstrated ability to be flexible, positive, and creative, in a dynamic, fast paced and changing environment.
