  • As the Film Friendly Business Strategist, you will lead the development and implementation of policies, strategies, projects, and programs which support the Film Friendly Program. You will work extensively across the corporation and with Council to identify and promote the development of film friendly opportunities, identify and resolve gaps in policy and process, and deliver on corporately led strategic initiatives.

Primary duties include:

  • Develop and maintain complex relationships and partnerships internally across the corporation and externally on behalf of the Film Friendly Program.

Actively support and advocate for the Film Friendly Program in Calgary, providing strategic leadership, contributing to the development of the program and leading the implementation of multifaceted policies, complex projects and diverse committees with a wide range of internal and external interested parties.

Make recommendations to Senior Leadership including the General Managers Office, Director's Offices and Offices of the Councillors related to ongoing project updates, trending issues, risks and opportunities.

Prepare and present reports, briefings, and presentations.

Act as a counsel and resource on risks and issues to identify, anticipate, and prioritize emerging issues related to the Film Friendly program; analyze the impacts and develop appropriate mitigation strategies to address and resolve the concerns.

Manage consultants and full-time contractors, and support civic assets, civic partner relationships, and funding.

Qualifications
***A Bachelor's degree in Arts, Fine Arts, Science, Commerce or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in policy development, relationship management, strategy development and project management are required.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft 360, Microsoft Teams, Adobe, and Webmail is considered an asset.

Access to a personal vehicle for business use and possession of a valid class 5 licence will be considered an asset.

Practical experience with diverse types of governance models, capital and program management and client negotiation experience will be considered an asset.

Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and strategic planning skills are essential for the success in this role.
