About the role


In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facilities and grounds in accordance with internal policies and procedures and external regulatory requirements.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Operates heating boilers and air conditioning systems including the starting up and shutting down of boilers and related pumps, fans, air compressors, pneumatic systems.
  • Monitors and adjusts physical plant and HVAC systems
  • Chemical analysis/water treatment on heating and cooling plants and related equipment
  • Performs preventative and demand maintenance on hot water boilers and HVAC systems.
  • Tests, maintains and repairs auxiliary power generator as required
  • Answers service/emergency call for fire protection and gas systems, security and other monitoring systems, assess and performs required repairs or resets systems.
  • Operates and monitors the computerized fire alarm system
  • Performs carpentry and maintenance such as replacing glides on furniture, removing and replacing door handles and minor repairs.

Education, Training and Experience:


  • Graduation from a recognized program in power engineering plus two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Power Engineering Class 4 Certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to operated related equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings

Additional Information:
Works: 08:00 to 16:00.


Rest days:
Saturday and Sunday.

To attend to emergencies after hours you will be required to be on-call (rotation).
