    Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary in the range of $63,750-$75,000, and benefits.

    Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

    As Volunteer Coordinator, the successful candidate will play an integral role in contributing towards the development in Canada, planning, and delivery of the charity's volunteer projects as well as the recruitment of required volunteers by providing administrative support, oversight to the rest of the Volunteers teams across the organisation, and acting as a central point of contact/support for Head Office for all Volunteer needs. Exploring new innovative Volunteer opportunities, preparing Volunteer resources, procurement of said resources, and collecting information such as queries and complaints. All to ensure smooth running of Volunteer operations, establish lines of communication, ensure value for money, and promote a positive working environment.

    We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role. Please note that AI will not be used in sourcing out candidates for this position.

    Key duties and responsibilities of the Volunteer Coordinator

    • Provide administrative support and oversight in a timely fashion
    • Achieve increased public interaction through Volunteer projects
    • Improve local relations through outreach programmes
    • Provide manpower for the organisation through the offering of internships

    What we're looking for in our Volunteer Coordinator

    • Ideally degree-educated in a related field, with minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Math
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience in charity, office administration, events, or volunteer management
    • Experience working and/or volunteering, with an understanding of the voluntary sector, is highly desirable
    • Driver with a clean licence and full-time access to a car
    • Flexible attitude, as the Volunteer Coordinator will be expected to support campaigns by attending activities and events that may take place in unsociable hours, such as evenings and weekends. Any overtime will be compensated via Human Appeal's TOIL Policy
    • Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector
    • Computer literate and database proficient; experience using Salesforce is desirable
    • Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languages such as Arabic or Urdu are desirable
    • This would be an ideal role for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator looking to develop their career or looking for a rewarding role within the Charity Sector
