The Analytics and Information Management team supports the entire Canadian Auto Finance organization with reporting, data consulting, strategy and ad-hoc analyses from product development, sales and loan acquisition to operations and servicing customers.

Job Description:

About this Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Analytics & Information Management - the Data Scientist will engage with all levels of the TD Auto Finance team and utilize their skills to provide value added information to business stakeholders.

Utilize business and TD enterprise data along with machine learning methods to build models that predict certain customer behaviors (for example: defaults, loan prepayments, new car purchases, mobile app behavior etc.).
Work with business partners on initiatives and projects. Provide consultation and recommendations by highlighting impacts from a quantitative point of view.
Proactively identify opportunities for the business to maximize shareholder value through provisioning of analytics discovery and business insights.
Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork; ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
Prepare Management summaries highlighting the outcome of the validation process for each model and ensuring the appropriate use of risk models. Identify the need to implement new models/techniques to manage risk as industry standards evolve.
Work with team members to enhance current profitability and pricing models.
Provide ad hoc support to Senior Manager in strategic and tactical initiatives as required.
Establish and maintain productive working relations with all stakeholders.

Requirements:

What can you bring to TD? Tell us about your most relevant experience, credentials and knowledge for this role, as well as these essential requirements and attributes:

Experience combining data from different databases. Experience discovering and understanding new data elements by utilizing metadata and testing.
Strong relationship building skills, ability to collaborate effectively with teams across TDAF and the Bank.
Experience in data mining, financial models and data visualization tools (SQL, Tableau, and Excel).
Experience building presentations and presenting the findings to upper management.
Minimum 5 years in an analytical or consulting role.
Demonstrated experience of developing and implementing statistical models (predictive & descriptive)
Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality, high impact analytical solutions to business problems
Banking or Auto Finance experience is strongly preferred.
University Degree combined with data science education preferred.
