The MDR Specialist contributes to the safety of patients by coordinating the Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Quality Assurance Program, which includes developing staff competencies; ensuring staff successfully maintain MDR Core competencies, implementing continuous quality improvement projects, ensuring measurable reportable and sustainable results, adhering to MDR standards and verifying Instructions for Use (IFU's) with new equipment and instrumentation, writing and maintaining SOP's in Policy Manager, assisting leadership team with Accreditation compliance specific to MDR standards and analyzing data in the Censitrac system.


Rate of Pay:
$37.10 per hour - $46.37 per hour


Hours of Work:
Regular Full-Time


Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in health care or business administration field, or as acceptable by the hospital
  • Successful completion of Medical Device Reprossesing Certificate
  • Certification in Quality Management
  • Preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years recent, related experence
  • Advanced knowledge of current regulatory and accreditation requirements with a focus on MDR
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with data collection and analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of writing policies/procedures and SOP's
  • Advanced knowledge of interpretation of IFU's and how it is applied in MDR
  • Proficient facilitation and presentation skills
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, corporate productivity tools and Censitrac
  • Solid knowledge base in Medical device reprocessing and patient safety
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Mission, Vision and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:


  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
