Manufacturing Program Managers (MPM) at Lyft drive cross-functional initiatives, leveraging strong leadership, planning, communication, and collaboration skills.
Our MPMs are commercially astute and technically strong with manufacturing engineering, factory build, automation or test systems, or facilities construction experience.
They focus on ensuring that our Hardware Supply Canada teams have a cohesive cross functional program plan and executes aggressively to this plan.
They are problem solvers who make things happen around them by setting clear goals and inspiring teams to deliver.
MPMs at Lyft are both strategic and tactical and do what it takes to successfully deliver key programs that have a material impact on the business.
They are expected to own the project plan, chair associated governance meetings, develop cohesion between teams, solve problems and escalate as required.
This will also include picking up and completing project related tasks as may be required.
In addition to the specific applied program management responsibilities, this position is expected to contribute to the maturity of the overall function.
This exciting MPM role will be focused on hardware supply chain solutions to meet our riders micro-mobility needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross functional teams in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of production to deliver micromobility vehicles and infrastructure in cities;
- Drive accountability internally and externally to ensure Lyft is maintaining its production (supply) commitments to stakeholders;
- Establish and maintain clear and effective communication with cross functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, quality, and logistics;
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding to ensure the compliance of industry regulations, standards, and best practices;
- Leverage technical expertise in tooling, equipment manufacturing, hardware development, test, and shipment to identify and manage production risks, including production delays, quality issues, and supply chain disruptions;
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure product design is optimized for manufacture and assembly;
- Build lean processes that drive crossfunctional and costeffective development of hardware solutions;
- Manage and drive production scheduling with clear response to forecast documentation, recurring inventory assessment through a standardized clear to build tool, and develop capacity plans that support on time delivery in full of products to customers;
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall production quality;
- Travel periodically to supplier's manufacturing sites.
Experience:
- 3+ years of industry experience working in Program Management;
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a specialty in industrial, electrical or mechanical engineering;
- Experience with product lifecycle beginning with NPI;
- Familiarity with Arena, Oracle, Jira, Confluence, Mode, gSuite;
- Independent selfstarter with high degree of confidence and business acumen;
- Good management of priorities and able to manage several projects in parallel;
- Solid team player; can work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment;
- Strong consultative, analytical, and problem solving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills;
- Self motivated, reliable, passionate, and can keep to deadlines;
- Excellent oral and written skills in English and French;
- Knowledge of UL / CSA / CE / CB / CCC standards will be considered an asset;
- PMP or APMP Certification is a plus.
