    St. Paul is strategically located in the centre of the northeast region of Alberta, and as a result maintains its status as a major trading centre for the surrounding area. An excellent road system and 3,500 foot paved airstrip provides easy access to and from the area.

    Population of St. Paul including catchment is 16,205 and is situated 200km northeast of Edmonton on Highway 28. Because of the town's ideal location in the northeast region of Alberta, firms involved in product and service industries are taking a second look at St. Paul. St. Paul is a "People Kind of Place".

    The variety of recreation facilities offered in St. Paul includes two indoor ice arenas, an indoor swimming pool, a recreation centre/6 sheet curling rink, 14 soccer fields, 14 community parks, 2 tennis courts, 2 sports fields, 8 ball diamonds, a bowling alley, movie theatres, the St. Paul Golf Course [9 holes], and a ski trail area.

    Provide physician services in primary care, emergency department, acute care, extended care, and anesthesia services.

    The successful candidate is recruited for the community of St. Paul.

    The successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or by opening their own practice. This is the candidate's business choice and will not be managed through the recruitment process.

    Duties include, but not be limited to:

    • Reside in and have as his/her primary residence in the community of St. Paul.
    • Establish and maintain a full-time community based practice within the community
    • Provide call support as per call schedules, including full-time participation in the Emergency Department and Anesthesia call schedules are required.
    • Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities; interest in management.
    • Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties as assigned.

      Qualifications
      • Diploma in Anesthetics, with a minimum of 6 months pre & post diploma experience.
      • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
      • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
      • CCFP
      • CCFP-EM
      • Geriatrics

        Candidate must have Emergency Room & Acute Care Hospital Experience in Rural setting within the past 1-2 years. Experience in offering these services as the sole provider required.

        Preference will be given to applicants who do not require, or have completed, the CPSA Practice Readiness Assessment (PRA-AB).
