JOB SUMMARY

The Asset Management Branch focuses on managing the City's public works infrastructure assets in an inclusive, effective, affordable, and integrated manner to maintain infrastructure safety and service levels. This specific role is within the Water Facilities Asset Management Unit (WFAM), handling vertical infrastructure within the City's water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities.

The Asset Management Analyst is responsible for various asset management functions, including technical support, analysis, and reporting within the Water Facilities Asset Management Unit. These functions are primarily associated with lifecycle activities related to infrastructure asset rehabilitation and upgrades.

The incumbent will manage asset data, identify needs, assess risks, and contribute to the annual budget cycle. The position plays a role in developing policies, procedures, and tools for optimized decision-making, prioritization, project scoping, and long-term planning within WFAM.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of a 4-year university degree in Engineering, Planning, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in asset management, engineering planning, and estimating on rehabilitation projects, among other responsibilities.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is desirable.

KNOWLEDGE

Infrastructure lifecycle models, principles, and rehabilitation techniques
Project management and financial reporting best practices
Maintenance/operational requirements for various facilities
Knowledge of applicable legislation and budget processes
Asset management principles, public consultation processes, and health and safety legislation
Database management systems and GIS tools

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and collaborate with stakeholders
Strong analytical, reporting, and project management skills
Resourceful, results-oriented, and adaptable
Sound judgment and ability to influence others
Organized with supervisory experience in a unionized environment
Fluency in English (oral, reading, writing)
