Requirements for the position:
Prior experience as an office manager or technician or MOA in an optometry or ophthalmology practice is strongly preferred
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
- Experience as an office manager or ophthalmic technician (minimum of 6 months) is required.
- Being ophthalmic technician certified is an asset but not required.
- EMR experience is necessary and experience using Accuro is an asset
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the activities of staff in the clinic to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Responsible for office hiring decisions in collaboration with the doctor.
- Manage payroll and timesheets of office staff.
- Promoting excellent patient care. Ensuring patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting when there is a complaint.
- Able to train staff on ophthalmic technical duties by being able to perform & teach diagnostic testing as well as the work of common ophthalmic complaints.
- Able to supervise and perform reception duties when required
- Able to provide lens counselling and familiarity with lens measurements is an asset but not required
- Act as a liaison with supplies and order supplies for the clinic
- Track expenses and create month reports for the clinic.
