Requirements for the position:

Prior experience as an office manager or technician or MOA in an optometry or ophthalmology practice is strongly preferred

  • Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
  • Experience as an office manager or ophthalmic technician (minimum of 6 months) is required.
  • Being ophthalmic technician certified is an asset but not required.
  • EMR experience is necessary and experience using Accuro is an asset

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the activities of staff in the clinic to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Responsible for office hiring decisions in collaboration with the doctor.
  • Manage payroll and timesheets of office staff.
  • Promoting excellent patient care. Ensuring patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting when there is a complaint.
  • Able to train staff on ophthalmic technical duties by being able to perform & teach diagnostic testing as well as the work of common ophthalmic complaints.
  • Able to supervise and perform reception duties when required
  • Able to provide lens counselling and familiarity with lens measurements is an asset but not required
  • Act as a liaison with supplies and order supplies for the clinic
  • Track expenses and create month reports for the clinic.

From $24.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
