About your next Challenge
as a Technical Writer:

Reporting to the Electronic Publications Supervisor, the Technical Writer is responsible to research, write, revise or update technical publications primarily for the main fleets of the Department of National Defence (DND).


L3Harris is one of the leading Canadian providers of aircraft engineering, fleet management, aircraft maintenance for government departments and agencies and commercial customers.


What You Will Do:


  • Conduct research necessary to produce comprehensive technical publications;
  • Derive new procedures to incorporate aircraft modifications, as well as define appropriate supporting illustrations;
  • Coordinate the preparation and the validation of texts, as well as other technical information documents related to customer requirements;
  • Perform validation/verification (val/ver) on aircraft if required;
  • Assist clients in the proper use of electronic manuals (IETP, IETM and MAS Viewer) as needed;
  • Raise technical problems;
  • Collaborate with the ePubs team, System Developer, Illustrator, Multi-Media Designer, Editor and Translators to enable the completeness of the work task and the necessary update to the technical publication(s);
  • Verify and check the preparation of illustrations, photographs, diagrams, as necessary;
  • Support the Electronic Publications Supervisor by providing writing effort estimates for customer approval;
  • Provide inputs for continuous improvement;
  • Provide status reports to the Electronic Publications Supervisor on assigned tasks.
