We are looking for responsible, disciplined, and professional individuals to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors.

This role will include regular interactions with the public, while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism and customer service.

  • Ensuring the safety and security of people, assets & property
  • Coordinating students, staff, and faculty during emergencies
  • Responding to emergencies and maintaining access control
  • Calling and liaising with the public emergency services during an emergency
  • Interacting with students, visitors, and the general public
  • Detecting, monitoring and displacing unwanted individual(s)
  • Parking enforcement and assistance
  • Securing restricted areas
  • Opening and closing campus as needed
  • Being physically capable of performing required duties
  • Knowledge and use of integrated security systems
  • Conducting interior and exterior patrols of campus
  • Ensuring smoking areas are properly utilized and enforced
  • Enforcing property laws, and Alpha College rules and protocol
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Preventing fire, theft & vandalism with vigilance
  • Inspecting fire equipment, ensuring all access points are free of obstacles.
  • Writing daily and incident reports.
  • All other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Available to work from 7:30am to 8:00pm Mon
  • Fri, and 8:00am to 6:00pm Saturday
  • Prior security experience in a higher education institution is an asset and is preferred.
  • Security reliability clearance
  • Leadership and problemsolving skills
  • Proactive, selfstarter, attention to detail, and a team player.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Driver's license and access to a vehicle (preferred but not a requirement)
  • Acceptable Criminal Reference Check

Salary:
From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
