Chinese Community Response to Family Violence
Team Lead (Full-time, 37.5 hours/week)
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and manage the Chinese Community Response to Family Violence program
- Develop, plan, and monitor programs and services consistent with community needs and overall objectives of the program
- Identify funding sources, develop grant proposals, complete evaluations, and write reports
- Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with a broad range of community sectors including funders, sponsors, government, non-profit organizations, and relevant stakeholders
- Represent the organization on committees, attending meetings, events, and networks
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff to ensure quality and efficient services; provide support to caseworker when needed; involve in new caseworker orientation, crisis/case management training and job shadowing
- Occasional evening/weekend work required as needed
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related discipline
- 5 years experience in case management, profound understanding of domestic violence and abuse, knowledge about the domestic violence sector, resources in Alberta and Chinese community
- Knowledge and skills in crisis management and supportive techniques to assist clients. Knowledge and skill in clinical counselling is an asset.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, excellent writing skills, verbal and public communication skills; and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, flexible schedule to accommodate work
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, and able to speak both Mandarin and Cantonese
Background
Chinese Community Response to Family Violence (CCRFV) has been providing support and services for victims of domestic violence in the Chinese community since 2009.
CCRFV is a collaboration of community associations, emergency shelters, and professional counselors which has shared concerns about service gaps and multiple barriers experienced by victims of family violence.
In these past years, Justice Canada and Alberta Justice have been providing funding for this Service. CCRFV is hosted by the Calgary Chinese Elderly Citizens' Association.Salary:
$28.00-$32.00 per hour
