    Summary

    Leads the reporting of inventory results for Celestica globally. Develops and implements new reporting strategies, tracks implementation and addresses issues relating to reporting timeliness, completeness and accuracy. Orchestrates the setting of the global inventory targets including SPP, AOP and ad hoc challenges required to achieve target performance. Provides first line support on complex inventory reporting or accounting issues as they arise. Applies expertise in more than one area of specialization. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Incumbents have decision-making authority and autonomy to deliver on goals of team. Influences others outside of team to ensure goals are met and resolves conflicts in an effective manner. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and serious delays in overall schedules of a site and/or regional function. May lead a multi-functional work group or project team consisting of one or more support staff and/or tech/professional staff, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialty. May determine new methods and procedures. Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships. Interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Interacts with and influences management and/or customers on significant issues.

    Detailed Description

    Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

    Reporting

  • Tracks, and reports inventory results for Celestica globally.
  • Prepares and presents monthly inventory reporting packages including forecasts, results and financial and operational metrics.
  • Develops and implements new methods and coordinates system improvements were necessary
  • Site Reporting and Inventory Policy SME

  • Consolidates monthly inputs from sites and monitors compliance, timeliness and accuracy of inputs; addresses site reporting issues.
  • Develops standard inventory reporting approaches with sites and provides training.
  • Ensure the sites understand Khalix functionality, policies and procedures; communicates changes to stakeholders as applicable
  • Provide first line support to site/regional/business unit financial and SCM teams on complex reporting or accounting issues as they arise.
  • Global Inventory Policy Author; maintain Policy in line with current procedures, facilitate annual review and communicate changes as applicable
  • Facilitates rollout to other regions if beneficial.
  • Target Setting -- AOP, SPP and Ad Hoc

  • Orchestrates the setting of the global inventory targets including SPP, AOP and adhoc challenges required to achieve target performance.
  • Develops timelines, plan guidance and plan assumptions. Gathers and analyzes information on which to base plan assumptions.
  • Acts as project leader for the development of global inventory targets including Global, Segment, Market, Customer and Site.
  • Prepares and presents summary presentations for leadership reviews
  • Oversees the development and preparation of alternative plan models.
  • Other

  • Participates in strategic development sessions with senior SCM Management.
  • Leads ad hoc inventory management related assignments such as scenario planning, KPMG audit inquiries, Annual Physical Inventory (API) schedule tracking.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Expert knowledge of office systems and analytical tools.
  • Familiarity with Khalix/Longview and/or other complex databases.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Hours during reporting and target setting periods may require flexibility to meet deadlines.
  • Typical Experience

  • Eight plus years of experience
  • Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experiency.
