Position Summary


As an integral member of the Finance Projects Team, the Corporate Project Planner supports the strategic and corporate governance functions for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.

In this role, the Planner supports the implementation of the multi-year strategic priorities of the Finance portfolio, including tracking progress against plan and regular reporting.

The Planner will also support corporate governance activities related to the Finance portfolio, both at an executive and Board level.

The position will collaborate with the Finance Senior Management Team, Finance Teams, and Corporate Planning Teams to guarantee the satisfactory completion of projects in accordance with client expectations, timelines, and budget requirements, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes.

You will play a key role in the efficient functioning of the Department and ensuring effective communication between stakeholders.


Duties:


  • Liaise with finance executives and other team members to provide support to the strategic planning and project management for finance initiatives and events.
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure smooth logistics, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes.
  • Monitor and report progress of finance projects from initial concept and design through implementation.
  • Develop frameworks for project evaluation and monitoring, including indicator development.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordination of projects and information exchange.
  • Disseminates and/or presents project results to key internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Finance Senior Management Team, Finance Team, etc.).
  • Coordinate the development of materials and support planning for governance committees/groups relevant to the Office of the CFO and Finance Executive team.
  • Acts as key resource for the Finance Projects team for developing communication materials by writing and editing strategic correspondence independently and consulting others as required to obtain required information.
  • Assist in developing and writing briefing notes and presentations for a range of audiences, including senior leadership committees and Board Committees, and speaking notes for the CFO as required.
  • Conduct research on relevant topics to inform executive decisions and provide succinct summaries of findings, including recommendations and suggested next steps.
  • General support of Finance Projects team and respond to ad hoc requests in a professional and responsive manner.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Office of the CFO

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years project/program management experience (healthcare and/or finance experience highly desirable)
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of strategic planning, project management, corporate communications, change management and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in interpreting hospital and finance data to inform initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adapt to changing priorities and expectations.
  • Ability to create clarity out of ambiguous situations and requirements independently and through consultation with knowledge experts.
  • Discretion and tact owing to sensitivity of corporate information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds
